Its difficult to come by a genuine R&B vocalist in this era of sound. In his latest release “GT”, Indiana native Marxus Lyvell shows off his unique style and vocal ability. You hear a bit of the modern R&B wave that has surfaced, but you also can pinpoint the classic sound within his voice. He also paid homage to the princess herself, the late and great Aaliyah, with a successful rendition of the hook from “One In A Million”.

Produced by BassGang University’s own C-Magik and randomly shot in downtown Phoenix, Arizona, 5280 Mystic displays lyrics and delivery that hip-hop has been begging for. I asked him a couple questions regarding his new release.
What was the inspiration behind this new video?
Spike Lee inspired “Magik Marker”. I love the floating element thing he does so I wanted a video that floats with me basically.
How did you link with Dat Dude Looney?
Looney is one of my best friends from Denver. He sent me a beat to the song “Get Off” and I sent the song back in 30 minutes. We have been Snoop and Dre ever since.
Whats the music scene look like in your area?
The Denver music scene is thriving right now with all the local support. My good friend Trev Rich just signed to Cash Money and since its been ‘Littington’.
