Stack Or Starve Exclusive: Interview w/ Jui$e Leroy

When and how did you start doing this rap thing? Who introduced you to the game?

I started rapping at the age of 5 years old on random day in the summer out of nowhere. But I didn’t start writing lyrics until I was 12 or 13 due to my parents splitting up. Around 16 I started recording in a real studio because I had been recording on cassette tapes and word got around town to this dude that was brothers with a rapper/producer out of Ennis, TX that liked my potential. His name was Big Mac and he’s the first one to get behind me and helped me establish some clout around Dallas with my music.

What’s the story behind your name? obviously you’re a fan of the movie “Last Dragon” lol

Lol man I was in the studio recording my Lords project under my former moniker Tony Staxx with a producer named 3Fifty7. He had the Last Dragon playing in the studio at the time and on the cool it was my first time seeing the movie. I heard the main character’s name and that shit just captivated me. So as I’m riding home listening to the rough draft of my tape I kept saying that was a dope name and I just put the Jui$e on it and told my close patna Cousin Pete and that nigga turnt up like hell yea nigga that’s it right there. So I just ran with it and built an image around the name.

How would you describe your music style?

In a nutshell my music style is Conscious Trap. I came from the streets, gang banging, dope selling, pimpin and all in real life but I elevated my consciousness and became aware of what is and what isn’t so I implement that in my music.

Tell us where are you from and where do you live now?

I’m from Fort Worth, TX a lil town on the outskirts called Everman and also Ennis, TX which is 30 minutes South of Dallas. I reside in Dallas for now but looking forward to switching locations when the time is right.

What’s the music scene like in Dallas? We see Yella Beezy is the new face or is that false?

To be honest the music is and always has been poppin out here in the “DFW” area. The street niggas making noise out here, we also have Leon Bridges from Ft. Worth doing his thing, the underground Hip Hop scene is so fucking talented fam it’s only a matter of time for everything get the notoriety that we deserve. And naw that’s very true about Yella Beezy, Cuz is a standup dude along with Trapboy Freddy they doing their best shit and speaking for the streets of the “D”, I commend those men.

What’s the status of your new project & it’s release?

My new project been complete I’m working on the advertising and marketing plan in order to get better results than the last project and even better results with the one that drops after this one. I’m trying to get as much publicity as possible to gain that attraction and anticipation before and after it releases.

Is there anything else you’d like to say?

Interview w/ Rapcrush (Brattnae)

Tell us about the new singles Cheat On Me, & “Pussy”…lol, how would you describe them? Cheat on me is amazing because it’s so relatable . It’s like the first thing a woman will say. I heard it before from friends movies everything I just put my thoughts into a song honestly. Pu$$y is a song out the norm the song is basically saying what a woman will do when she get somebody real nothing more nothing less I mean I just say what females talk about on the regular but in my music .
What inspires you to write music like you do?
Regular everyday activities like I love to sing and rap so if I’m cleaning up listening to r&b especially 90s music I get inspired or things I do everyday and I just start singing something I bout start writing.
Describe your show, what’s it like to be at a RapCrush show performance?
It’s very different like I am a crazy person you never know what I got up my sleeve I have so much different music I can perform so many genres in one night . Every time I do a show I amaze the audience because it’s like wow I never seen a woman perform like that people a say . It’s always been fun performing for me I love to keep the crowd involved.
How did you meet Dj k Storm, and what is his role?
I met him thru social media honestly he saw me working and we clicked. He’s currently my Dj.
With so many Chicago female artists making way, how does Rapcrush stand out and plan to attack the game? Being different ,myself  and  feminism . Most female artist don’t be sexy they be acting like dudes I have soooo much to offer I plan to attack by just being me using my personality my voice my different styles to keep going crazy . Literally I can make anything and that’s what’s gonna separate me from everyone else.
Do you feel your image is where it should be, or do you feel its room to grow?
No not at all I can’t lie I think it grow with time
though . I’m still growing so from where my image was when I first started recording at like 18 it’s definitely getting a little better but not where I want it yet .
What’s your vision for yourself in 2019?
2019 I want to surround myself with a valid team. I really wanna relocate to Atlanta but I just want more features with talented artist dope producers and a cold ass videographer and keep these hits coming.

Interview – Maff Test

For our viewers, give us an introduction on Maff Test
Ayye.. Im Maff Test aka Young Harvey, a product of Harvey World
(Harvey, IL). Spitta , Consciousness enthusiast, Serial entrepreneur,
1/2 owner of Lockout Records, Ville Life, & hustler by design.
How long have you been grinding in the music game? I’ve been at it in the
industry a while but what I focus on is the present and as of now we been
pushing with the latest single for the past few months with good results on that
slow & steady grind.
Besides being influenced to pursue this career in music, what are your other
aspirations that you are set out to do?
I aspire to motivate people who thought
they had to settle with a life they didn’t vision for themselves and conquer some
of where I grew up by buying some of the blocks we claimed to actually own
houses on them.
Was there a specific moment in your life where you thought, “music is what I
want to do”?
Definitely, initially after recording my 1st song and that was when i
realized it was one of the only things that was satisfying to the point of feeling
complete. I could narrow that down to a few moments and then follow it up with
every time Im doing music, it causes that “music is what i want to do” thought to
re visit.
What have been your struggles and triumphs in the business? Are you interested
in venturing to markets overseas?
Struggles have been the streets and fast
money being a distraction at 1 point cuz it was always easy to have it now even
though it risked everything.
Triumphs have been relationships I’ve made along the way which are still good
and helpful now as well as sales on past projects, mixtape with Dj Kahled, major
press coverage, shows in front of thousands at spots like B96 summer bash,
production with grammy nominated producers, artist I have had the opportunity
to record with prior to & on this up coming project, and the knowledge I have
obtained along the way.
We are definitely interested in doing some things overseas, as a matter of fact, we
are starting some things now with some Australian & Uk outlets we teamed up
with.

Do you have other passions in life? My only passion aside music has only ever
been to be wake people up, motivate & be creative in a successful way. If we
talking about other interest then we gotta bring up, sneakers, motorhomes, cars
& opposing oppression to name a few.
Do you believe passion is an essential part of success? Passion is the driving
force of ambition how i see it, its a necessity to keep going if you ever forget your
why for a sec.
Tell us about your movement. My movement is revolved around growing, building
and weeding out while pushing forward. This approach has surprised even my
self with who’s showed interest from sponsors to peoples reaction to how we are
going about things once they realize what was done.
Do you think the advent of internet and all the new technology has helped your
music and independent musicians in general, or do you think it just creates a
mass of mediocre “copycats” who flood the web, making it difficult to distinguish
yourself?
Overall & ultimately I say it definitely helps a lot, the uniqueness in an
artist can always shine regardless of copycats and you cant substitute nor
mistake hard work with mediocrity.
In your experience thus far, what is the best piece of advice in this business you
actually followed? And one you didn’t follow, but now know for sure that you
should have?
Best advice would be not letting nobody determine the path you
take to the end goal. Advice I feel i might should have followed sooner would be
not to treat the industry no different than any other company I would start and run
What’s next for Maff Test? More music, shows, partnerships & a few surprises, In
sum though, whats next is to keep using in a unique way staying focused on
seeing things through.
How can the people reach out? Sub @ my site mafftest.com & follow me on social
media’s IG,Twitter &.. FB @mafftest I’m active on all the above.
